Announces SceneVision-3D Version 3.1
New
3D Capture and Model-building Software Produces Higher Quality Models with
Greater Ease-of-Use
CHAPEL
HILL, N.C., June 23, 2005
– 3rdTech announced today the Version 3.1 release
of its groundbreaking 3D scene capture and creation software, SceneVision-3D.
Available immediately to current SceneVision-3D users, the new software
incorporates a scanning ‘wizard’ and new model-building functions, making it
easier than ever before to capture scenes in 3D and to reconstruct accurate,
photo-realistic, computer graphics models.
The DeltaSphere-3000 3D Scene Digitizer
captures millions of 3D measurements and scores of associated color images of a
crime or accident scene. The new ‘scanning wizard’ in SceneVision-3D v3.1
simplifies the scanning procedure by providing a simplified routine for
capturing data, and automatic naming and organization of all captured data. The
new software makes the system easier to learn, easier to use, and speeds up the
entire scene-capture process.
In addition, SceneVision-3D now
incorporates ‘intelligent model simplification’. These new, automated
functions, create high-quality, color, computer graphics models with very little
effort. New editing capabilities have also been added for combining
multiple scans into a single 3D model.
“Our goal is to make 3D scene capture as
easy to learn and use as standard 2D digital photography”, said Nick England,
President of 3rdTech. “The new SceneVision-3D release takes a giant step
toward that goal.”
SceneVision-3D v3.1 will be shown, for the
first time, at the International Association for Identification’s 90th
International Educational Conference, August 9-10 in
Dallas
